Filling Your Electric-Only Radiator
Filling is straightforward using clean water and a suitable radiator corrosion inhibitor. The supplied guide explains the correct fill level and inhibitor dose. Supplying it unfilled keeps the cost down for you; filling liquid is purchased separately.
Will it heat my room?
Allow for the radiator body, brackets, element controller and any dual fuel valves. Confirm the complete installed dimensions before choosing its position. For electric use, the standard element is rated at 200W; the round thermostatic and smart digital thermostatic elements are rated at 300W. Compare the selected rating with your room's requirements. A central heating BTU figure is not the electric element's output. Use our BTU calculator to estimate room heating requirements.
Installation requirements
This heating element must be installed vertically at the bottom of the towel radiator only. Ensure the towel radiator is filled to the correct level before the element is switched on. All electrical installation work must be carried out by a suitably qualified professional and comply with applicable UK electrical requirements and the manufacturer's instructions.

Practical answers
Frequently asked questions
What size is this electric towel radiator, and will it fit my wall?
This black electric towel radiator measures 200mm wide × 1200mm high. Its radiator body has 150mm pipe centres, a 75–95mm wall-to-pipe distance and approximately 90–110mm projection. Allow extra space for the element controller, cable and any dual fuel T-piece, valves and pipework. Read our pipe-centre measuring guide.
Does the radiator come with a heating element?
Yes. The 200mm wide × 1200mm high black towel radiator comes with the heating element and kit hardware for your selected option. Choose a 200W standard element, 300W round thermostatic element or 300W smart digital thermostatic element, with an electric-only or dual fuel setup.
Are valves and a T-piece included?
The 200mm wide × 1200mm high black towel radiator includes radiator valves and a T-piece when you select a dual fuel kit. Electric-only options do not include central heating valves or a dual fuel T-piece.
Which heating kit should I choose?
For the 200mm wide × 1200mm high black towel radiator, choose electric-only for operation independently of central heating, or dual fuel for central heating and electric operation. The standard element is 200W, the round thermostatic element is 300W and the smart digital thermostatic element is 300W. These ratings also apply to the matching dual fuel kits. Exact functions depend on the selected element.
Is it pre-filled, and is it easy to fill?
It is supplied unfilled to keep the cost down for you. Filling is straightforward, and instructions are included. For electric-only use, fill it with clean water and a suitable radiator corrosion inhibitor, following the supplied guide for the correct fill level and inhibitor dose. Filling liquid is purchased separately. Dual fuel models are filled through the central heating system during installation.
Will it provide enough heat for my bathroom?
The 200mm wide × 1200mm high black electric towel radiator is a compact model for narrow wall spaces. It includes a 200W standard element or a 300W round thermostatic or smart digital thermostatic element. Whether that is sufficient depends on your room's dimensions, insulation, windows and external walls. Use our BTU calculator and compare the requirement with the selected 200W or 300W element rating. Towels covering the rail can reduce room heat output.
Can it warm towels when the central heating is off?
Yes. The 200mm wide × 1200mm high black towel radiator can warm towels independently of central heating once correctly installed for electric operation. For dual fuel use, follow the supplied radiator and element operating instructions.
Who should install it, and where is the element fitted?
The 200mm wide × 1200mm high black electric towel radiator requires secure wall mounting, correct filling and leak checks. The heating element must be fitted vertically at the bottom only. A suitably qualified professional must complete the electrical work to applicable UK requirements and the manufacturer's instructions. Do not switch on the element before the radiator is correctly filled.
How should I clean the matt black finish?
Allow the 200mm wide × 1200mm high black electric towel radiator to cool, then wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry gently. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaning chemicals. Follow the heating element instructions for care and operation.
What warranty, returns and support are available?
The radiator body of this 200mm wide × 1200mm high black electric towel radiator has a 5-year warranty. The electric heating element and radiator valves have a 1-year warranty, subject to the applicable terms. Most new, unopened items can be returned within 30 calendar days of delivery, subject to the returns policy. Check the delivery estimate and contact our Coventry team for help choosing a kit.
