Filling your radiator

Will it heat my room?
200W standard element; 300W round thermostatic or digital thermostatic element. The same ratings apply to corresponding dual fuel kits. A central-heating BTU figure is not the electric element’s output. Use our BTU calculator to estimate your room’s requirements and compare them with the confirmed element rating. Towels covering the rail can reduce room heat output.
Installation requirements
The heating element must be fitted vertically at the bottom of the radiator only. Fill the radiator to the correct level and check for leaks before switching on the element. Electrical work must be completed by a suitably qualified professional in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable UK requirements.

Practical answers
Frequently asked questions
What size is this electric towel radiator, and will it fit my wall?
The radiator body measures 350mm wide × 1200mm high, with 300mm pipe centres and 90–110mm (approximate) projection. Allow additional space for the element, controller, cable and any dual fuel connections. Read our measuring guide.
Does it include a heating element?
Yes. Each selected kit includes the radiator and its 200W standard, 300W round thermostatic or 300W digital thermostatic heating element, together with the hardware for that configuration.
Are radiator valves and a T-piece included?
Yes, when you select a dual fuel kit. Electric-only options do not include central-heating valves or a dual fuel T-piece.
Which heating kit should I choose?
Choose electric-only for operation independently of central heating, or dual fuel for central heating and electric operation. Standard options provide simple operation; round thermostatic options offer adjustable control; digital thermostatic options provide digital controls. Exact functions depend on the selected element.
Is it pre-filled, and is it easy to fill?
It is supplied unfilled to keep the cost down for you. Filling is straightforward, and instructions are included. For electric-only use, fill it with clean water and a suitable radiator corrosion inhibitor, following the supplied guide for the correct fill level and inhibitor dose and leaving the required space for expansion. Filling liquid is purchased separately. Dual fuel models are filled through the central heating system during installation.
Will it provide enough heat for my bathroom?
200W standard element; 300W round thermostatic or digital thermostatic element. The same ratings apply to corresponding dual fuel kits. A central-heating BTU figure is not the electric element’s output. Use our BTU calculator to estimate your room’s requirements and compare them with the confirmed element rating. Towels covering the rail can reduce room heat output.
Can it warm towels when central heating is off?
Yes, once correctly installed for electric operation. Follow the supplied operating instructions for electric-only or dual fuel use.
Who should install it, and where does the element go?
The heating element must be fitted vertically at the bottom of the radiator only. Fill the radiator to the correct level and check for leaks before switching on the element. Electrical work must be completed by a suitably qualified professional in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable UK requirements.
How should I clean the matt black finish?
Allow the radiator to cool, then wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry gently. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaning chemicals.
What warranty, returns and support are available?
The radiator body has a 5-year warranty, with 1 year on heating elements and valves, subject to the applicable terms. Read our 30-day returns policy and contact our Coventry team for help choosing a kit.
