1. Do I need an electrician to install it?

Yes. Because bathrooms are considered "Special Locations" under UK building regulations (Part P), any electrical work must be carried out by a qualified professional. Elements must be hardwired into a fused spur—they should never be plugged into a standard socket inside a bathroom.

5. What does the IP55 rating mean?

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating tells you how water-resistant the element is.

IP55: Higher protection, often found on premium thermostatic models.

6. How do I maintain my electric towel rail element?

Bleed the Rail: Even in electric-only rails, air can get trapped. Ensure the rail is bled during installation to prevent "cold spots" at the top.
Check Fluid Levels: Electric-only rails are filled with a specialized heating fluid (inhibited water). Ensure it is filled to approximately 90% to allow for thermal expansion.
